Chicken Tawa Qeema

Ingredients

1 Chicken Mince (qeema) ½ kg
2 Oil/Ghee ¼ cup
3 Ginger 1 tablespoon, finely chopped
4 Garlic 1 tablespoon, finely chopped
5 Onion 2 large, finely sliced
6 Kasuri Methi 1 ½ teaspoon
7 Mango Achaar (pickle) 1 or 2 tablespoon
8 Green Chilies 4-5 medium, whole or chopped
9 Salt As per taste
10 Turmeric Powder 1 teaspoon
11 Coriander Leaves ¼ cup, for garnish
12 Red Chili Powder 1 teaspoon (or more as per spice level)
13 Fennel Seeds (saunf) 1 teaspoon, crushed
14 Garam Masala Powder 1 teaspoon

 

Procedure for preparing Chicken Tawa Qeema:

  1. Heat oil/ghee in a tawa and fry chopped ginger & garlic till color starts to change.
  2. Add sliced onion and fry till transparent.
  3. Now add all seasonings i.e. kasuri methi, mango pickle, salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder, crushed fennel seeds and garam masala powder. Add 1-2 tablespoon of water if masala starts to burn/sizzle. Masala bhoon lein.
  4. Now once masala is ready, add chicken mince and fry for 10 minutes till color changes.
  5. Let the mince cook on low/medium flame till done.
  6. Take out cooked mince on serving bowl and garnish with chopped coriander leaves & green chilies.

 

Tip: Serve with hot naan or chapatti and serve with raita & salad.
