Matar Keema

Matar Keema is always a yummy to eat, adding bhabiskitchen special touch will add a flavour and fragrance that will switch the appetite to turbo boost mode! 🙂

Ingredients

1 Beef or Chicken Mince (keema) 1/2 kg
2 Salt To taste
3 Red Chili Flakes (kutti laal mirch) ½ teaspoon
4 Turmeric Powder ¼ teaspoon
5 Coriander Powder 1/2 teaspoon
6 Tomato 1 medium, chopped
7 Onion 1 medium, diced
8 Green Peas (matar) 1 cup
9 Cumin Seeds (zeera) ½ teaspoon
10 Bay Leaves 2 medium
11 Cloves (Laung) 4-6
12 Ginger Garlic Paste 1 tablespoon
13 Oil As needed
14 Fresh Coriander Leaves For garnish
15 Green Chilies For garnish
16 Garam Masala Powder ¼ teaspoon
17 Lemon Juice ½ teaspoon

 

Procedure for preparing Matar Keema:

  1. Heat oil in a pot and add garam masala i.e. cumin seeds, bay leaves and cloves.
  2. Once they start to splutter (karkara lein), add sliced onion.
  3. Fry till onion becomes light golden then add mince (keema) along with ginger garlic paste.
  4. Stir fly on high flame for 5-8 minutes till color changes (bhoon lein).
  5. Now add chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili, coriander powder and salt. Add peas as well. Keep frying for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Now lower the flame and let it cook till mince and peas are tender (add small amount of water).
  7. Once water is dried and oil separates, add chopped coriander leaves, green chilies, lemon juice and garam masala powder.

 

Tip: Serve with naan, chapatti or steamed rice along with fresh salad.
